Forgive the fuzzy pictures. I took these with my HTC Dream’s camera.
For the record, the bit on my soldering gun broke halfway through the construction of this project and I’m too lazy and poor to go get another one, hence the shotty soldering job.
The intent was to hardwire this thumb drive to a microUSB cable for use with USB Control on my Nokia n810. This would allow me to access the thumbdrive as if it were just another removable storage peripheral like the built in slot for the miniSD card. Only problem is that USB Control is giving me an error stating that the USB device is not recognized as a valid disk. I’m looking into this now and will report my findings here.
I learned that the error I was getting was expected, however, this did not resolve the lack of connectivity. I’m starting to lean toward this being an issue with the USB drive and not the software/hardware mod. I’ll try this again later this week with a standard USB drive without the hardware mod and see if the n810 detects it or not. Updates will be posted here as always.
